Vanessa

Hello!
I am currently working on processing some photos from a shoot I did with Vanessa Arrevillaga. Vanessa just finished a bartending certification and need photos to submit with her applications. She had also gotten her hair done with purple streaks and wanted to show them off. So, Vanessa arrived looking great and our photo session went beautifully. She's very pleased and I'm looking forward to learning of her application status! Next, I will be posting some lifestyle modeling portraits I shot of Mai Vo. Enjoy!

Justin Ramirez

Last night, I had the pleasure of photographing Justin Ramirez. He was in need of head shots and some fun portraits, so we met at my favorite portrait location to do a quick session yesterday evening. We had a blast and Justin was extremely pleased with the results:

In Repair...

I regret to announce my main body, my Canon 5D, is in the shop and is going to cost me a healthy amount to repair. It should be back and working within the next week or two, though! From now on, I'm going to protect the camera from every form of moisture! Luckily, it was exposed to a bit of freshwater instead of salt, so it should be fine. In the meantime, I've been experimenting with film. Nothing beats a great black and white exposure, or a rich Velvia slide. I shall have more to post soon. I should find out my camera's status tomorrow or Tuesday :). Until then, happy living!

Catching Up - Part II

Catching Up.

Hello, everyone!
Well, it's been a long while since my last post. School was pretty intense this past semester. Life drawing was almost unbearable, with 3D design taking up a lot of time, as well.

Many things have changed on my end of the spectrum. First, I had the honour of photographing two weddings this Spring and have learned quite a bit about the art. I wish eternal happiness to both couples and have posted some of my favorite images below!

Secondly, I've decided to take my photography in a bit of a different direction. As a BFA Visual Communications major at CSU Long Beach, I'm beginning to want to 'break out of the box' that many modern photographers have erected for the art. What rules apply in photography and design, and which are meant to be broken? ARE there any rules, or is the artist's creativity the only limit? I'd like to think the latter is true, and I've been experimenting with many different styles and ways of taking photos and processing them.

Those two happenings inspired me to create Alexander Fitch Photography and Design, through which I shall offer my photographic and design talents, since both forms of art often go hand-in-hand. I'm going to be processing a new batch of head shots I took for Eulis Kay or Disneyland Entertainment Productions / AGVA over the next couple of days, so do look forward to seeing some of those posted later this week. I am also heading up to visit my uncle in Bishop and the Eastern Sierras this Thursday-Monday, so I will have a nice batch of nature photos proceeding, as well.

Portrait Shoot with Mai

About a week ago, I did a nice little portrait session with Mai, a communications student at CSU Fullerton, who is thinking about getting into some light modeling. It was a nice day, be it a bit chilly by Southern California standards, and we got some really nice shots. I'm still editing the images for her gallery and DVD, but here are a few of the best ones thus far.

Julie and I are really excited for the next couple months! We will be shooting a wedding on April 18th up in the Sierra Nevadas, which is sure to be a great experience. I'm also working on revamping the website to show off some of our recent work and provide a more informative browsing experience for potential clients.

Session with Kayla and Moose

I have already fallen behind with my blogging, so allow me to share a recent portrait session with my friend Kayla and her dog, Moose!
It was a lovely day at the park, be it a bit warm. Moose was particularly excited, but I managed to get a few good shots that Kayla and her family adore. It's always nice to hear great things about my work from friends and family, I must say. I've inspired Kayla to start working at her own photography, according to her, so it makes me glad my work can touch someone so deeply. My next post will be regarding a shoot I did this morning with Mai, a co-worker of mine, who needed some portraits done for a potential job. I'm just awaiting her selection of her top photos, so until then, have a great weekend!

Portrait Session With Annette

Hello!
As my first image contribution for this blog, I am sharing with you some images from a photo session with my lovely friend, Annette. She was in need of a few shots for an upcoming audition, and I was very glad to be of service. The weather was perfect and the park was beautiful, and we got some very nice shots (of course, I'm sharing the best of the best) and had a great time. Thanks, Annette! :)

Well, here we go!
